We've just finished our last assembly for this academic year. Sharing achievements, sports awards, Digital Leaders leavers awards, our goodbyes to staff, celebrating those getting married and seeing the year 6 leavers video. Made it a very emotional assembly, well done to our year 6 student who played everyone in and out of assembly. Here are half the photos.
Here is one of our Year 4 students with their Blue Peter badge and her signed copy of Cressida Cowell's new book. Well done for making it to the final 6 out of 9,000 entries in the Design a Dragon competition.

On Wednesday 5th July, musicians from Year 4, 5 and 6 were invited to Christ the Sower to join five other primary schools in the West Flank Orchestra Day. In all, 21 children attended from Giles Brook and these joined others to make a total of 80 children in a large primary school orchestra. Quite spectacular and a great opportunity to play together. The morning started with some warm up sessions and organising places in the orchestra. This was followed by the teaching of several songs which were then played together. The children were lucky enough to be supported by young people from Shenley Brook End School who did a great job tuning instruments and helping children follow their music. It was also lovely to see so many of our ex-pupils - Chie, Tae, Charlotte, Izzy and Lydia were all a fantastic help. In the afternoon, the children were lucky enough to watch the Shenley Brook End pupils perform and then were led in some clapping and rhythm games. After further practise as a whole orchestra, the children performed brilliantly to a full audience of parents. The whole day was a great experience and our children were an absolute credit to our school and parents alike.

Today was the official opening of the new trim trail. A massive thank you to the Giles Brook Friends Association for all their hard work and events over many years to save to buy this for the school. We would like to continue saving to extend the trim trail further, so all your help in the coming months / years is really appreciated. If any of you know any businesses that would like to help fund this project please get in touch. We have a little bit of landscaping in the middle of the trim trail to finish off but it now open for the children to use.
This trim trail is going to be used by Foundation year and KS1 during break and lunch times on a class rota. Today was Cricket class's turn, so they got to be the first to use the trim trail.
