Week beginning Monday 24th January 2022
In the above link, you will find the updated flowchart from Milton Keynes Council which details what you should do if you suspect a case of Coronavirus in your household. Please take time to familiarise yourself with the guidance and the timescales included which details what to do if a child tests positive and when they can return to school.
To summarise:
Action after a positive LFD result:
• A child/young person/staff member must isolate at home for up to 10 days
• In line with National guidance, anyone testing positive can now take LFD tests no earlier than day 5 and day 6 of the isolation period.
• The tests should be at least 24 hours apart.
• If both tests are negative, a child can leave self-isolation and return to the setting as soon as they have got the negative result from the second test. This is provided they do not have a temperature.
• If you decide not to carry out LFD testing then your child should continue with their self-isolation for the full 10 days.
• This guidance also now applies to children below school age, with LFD testing at the discretion of parents/carers.
If you receive a ‘Warn and inform’ letter from school, please be vigilant and remember to test your child using an LFD test as per the guidance.
