Uniform

Our school has chosen to have a uniform as we believe it establishes a strong group identity and sense of equality and helps to create a purposeful working environment. The school uniform colours are navy blue, grey and white.
We have a very distinctive logo of a damselfly on our school sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, fleeces and P.E. T-shirts, which are available online from our supplier Price & Buckland. You can view the full range with prices and sizing information using the following link:

Deliveries into school are:
Order by the 1st Monday of the month for delivery on the 2nd Monday of the month AND order by the 3rd Monday of the month for delivery on the 4th Monday of the month.
These are free of delivery charges. You can also place an order for home delivery with a small charge for postage.
Many aspects of our school uniform can be bought from local sources, shops and supermarkets. Grey trousers, grey skirts or pinafores and summer dresses can all be sourced this way. Likewise, white polo shirts can be sourced at supermarkets - we all know how many of these children get through!
Support is available for the start of each Autumn Term for those in receipt of free school meals. Please contact the school office for further information if you feel you qualify office@gilesbrook.co.uk

P.E. Kit
Indoor P.E. Children work barefoot for indoor P E / movement. Long hair will need to be tied back for safety reasons. We ask that either children do not wear earrings to school on the days they have P.E or they cover them with a plaster or micropore tape. The school will take no responsibility for accidents directly related to the wearing of earrings. Outdoor P.E. In addition to the above, plimsolls or trainers will be needed. In Key Stage 1, it is highly unlikely that outdoor activities will take place between the end of October and the beginning of March, so plimsolls will mainly be needed for the summer period. Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) should bring suitable footwear for P.E. throughout the year. Tracksuits/jogging bottoms can be worn for outside P.E. in the Autumn and Spring Terms. Children should bring their P.E. kit in a drawstring bag. We encourage children to have their P.E. kit in school for the full week and take this home for washing on a Friday. During Covid times, children in Y1 - Y6 are advised to come to school wearing their PE kit on the day of the PE. sessions. P.E. bags Giles Brook Primary School P E bags are available from Reception. In winter, if Wellington boots are worn to school, please ensure that your child has indoor footwear to change in to. All items of clothing, the book and P.E. bag should be clearly labelled with the name of your child. Aprons for art and craft activities and cookery will be provided by the school. Any old shirts suitable for use by the children completing messy art activities are always appreciated. |
