I was appointed Headteacher in September 2012 and I am proud to work in such a caring school that puts itself in the heart of the community, and always puts children first.
Our school was opened in September 2003 and rapidly established a very good reputation in the area. We are a parent and child-friendly school with a terrific team of staff and governors who really do their utmost in the best interests of the children. Relationships are seen as a crucial motivating force in our school; everything we achieve is down to the strong sense of teamwork that we foster. Many parents come in to help and we see them as partners and friends with the same common goal as ourselves: trying to bring up polite, confident young human beings with the academic and social skills needed to succeed in later life.
The curriculum we offer is broad with a wide range of exciting opportunities. Basic skills are well taught but we don’t just have a narrow focus on English and Maths. We want our children to have a well-rounded educational experience, to enjoy coming to school and be enthusiastic and motivated. We work hard to maintain high standards. The quality of teaching in our school is very good and we have highly developed monitoring and evaluation procedures.
Our resourcing levels are extremely good and having a purpose built building is a huge advantage. We have well equipped classrooms and very good ICT capability which is essential in preparing our children for the future.
Our Friends Association run all kinds of social and fund raising activities and have purchased many additional resources to further improve our facilities such as outside benches for the children, playground equipment, a playhouse for the youngest children, guitars and keyboards. They make a fantastic contribution to our school and have done so much to give our grid square a real sense of community.
A very big thank you goes to everyone involved with our school – children, staff, parents, Governors and the local community for the wonderful support they give. Our continued success as a school relies on all of us working together as one team for the benefit of the children and the society of tomorrow.
